“Boston Boxing” TV Marathon
January 25, 2010- Metropolitan Pictures and Stingray Body Art of Allston, MA are pleased to announce their new reality TV show, “BOSTON BOXING: TEAM TRAINING,” which is currently airing on New England Sports Network (NESN), has been scheduled for an ALL-DAY MARATHON RUN on February 11, 2010 beginning at 1pm.
NESN began airing the 7-episode show, based upon local Allston gym “Boston Boxing & Fitness” and its charismatic owner, legendary trainer Ed LaVache, on Wednesday Dec 23rd 2009 in prime time following the Bruins game, with each Wednesday bringing a new episode. The final “Fight Night Finale,” episode is scheduled to premiere on Wed Feb 10, 2010, with the series marathon beginning the next day.
The ½-hour show, which combines an educational “learn about boxing” approach with the escalating competition of a good reality show, follows two mixed male and female teams of amateur boxers as they learn, train and eventually fight in a one-hour “Fight Night Finale” exhibition match final episode.
The natural drama created by the agonies of intense, in-your-face training is constantly peppered with sparring and punches so close and visceral fans will positively feel them. The story becomes truly epic as the program follows fighters Hector Hernandez on his quest for the Rocky Marciano title belt and Tommy Duquette on his journey to the National PAL Tournament and more, all leading up to the Fight Night Finale.
The entire series, comprising 4 hours of finished television programming, was filmed, edited and on the air in less than 16 weeks by Metropolitan Pictures. Between December 2009 and the end of February, Boston Boxing will have received approximately 20 hours of airplay, most of it in prime-time.
